Are you someone who loves sweets like I do? Do you find yourself craving something sweet throughout the day, especially after dinner? Let me guess what happens here, you reach for that sweet, sugary, dessert or treat which creates significant guilt for sabotaging your diet. As a result, overeating occurs because you figure “hey! With that said, if you know sweets are your weakness then why not set yourself up for success with some healthy, sweet, satisfying options that can ease those cravings! Best of all they won’t sabotage your diet which will avoid the guilt spiral!

No-Bake Vegan Brownies

If you are a chocolate lover then you will love these healthy, no-bake, vegan, GF and easy brownies. There are only 3 ingredients. They are perfect with your after-dinner coffee or tea if you tend to look for something sweet after dinner.

Air-popped Cinnamon Popcorn

Popcorn is probably my favourite food of all time. It’s such a perfect healthy snack and it offers more bang for your buck because you can have a good amount of it for minimal calories. Of course, I’m referring to air-popped popcorn! My little spin on popcorn is simply adding some cinnamon to it to sweeten it up a bit. I typically add approximately 1 tsp for ½ cup of un-popped kernels. Suddenly it turns into a warm and cozy comfort food. If I’m hankering for something sweet this is sure to satisfy that craving.

Fruit Flavoured Tea

This is an excellent trick for when you have that craving in the evening hours. Honestly, it can be used any time of day but if you’re like me and avoid eating after dinner then a fruity herbal tea always helps to cut any sweet craving I have!

Homemade Hot Chocolate

There is something about hot chocolate that is so comforting. However, I find any of the store-bought stuff is WAY too sweet and typically filled with sugar and calories. As a result, I take things into my own hands and make my own hot chocolate which is vegan and refined sugar-free! I like making this directly in my cup for minimal clean up. Read below for the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of non-dairy milk (I use unsweetened almond milk)
  • 1 tsp maple syrup (I prefer honey for non-vegan option)
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Pour about 2 tbsp of milk along with the honey and cocoa powder into a large coffee cup and whisk.
  2. Add the remainder of the milk into the cup and mix well.
  3. Put in the microwave for about 1.5 minutes or until your desired temperature
  4. Stir again and allow to cool before you enjoy!

  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp coconut oil (optional)

  2. Add the remainder of ingredients to the pot and bring to a light boil
  3. Cover and let simmer to allow the cinnamon sticks to release flavor
